Part 2: Creating Safety During Financial Literacy Conversations

Building on the first webinar in the series, this session will focus on TVIA’s first two Principles: Trauma- and Violence awareness, with a focus on structural and systemic violence, and creating emotional, cultural and physical safety for service users and providers during care encounters. Action-oriented and tailorable practice strategies to recognize the effects of trauma and violence and create safety to ensure providers and clients have a positive and respectful encounter will be discussed, and links to practice tools provided.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

1. Recognize when the effects of trauma and violence, including structural violence, are influencing a service/educational interaction.

2. Apply specific TVI strategies to facilitate a safe, respectful and effective interaction.

3. Know how to find additional resources about TVIA and equity-promoting approaches to service delivery.
