In order to effectively plan and look towards developing useful tools in support of perinatal people’s well-being, FC secured a funding grant through the Daymark Foundation and proceeded with a needs assessment. Our research team was brought together to work with FC and meet the following objectives:

  1. Engage with family support centers to better understand how providers perceive current services, programs and supports for perinatal people.
  2. Identify unmet and current needs of perinatal people and service providers in order to shape future programming.
  3. Work with Families Canada to identify existing and forthcoming programs and resources for perinatal people.

Our findings informed a set of recommendations that together form an action plan for moving forward.
