This needs assessment of new immigrant mothers and their families acknowledges the challenges that newcomer families, especially women, face with food preparation duties in the Canadian context. To help newcomer women and their families adjust to and navigate the Canadian food system, this assessment highlights their information needs across three areas: food safety, nutrition, and food labels.
